Murley Becomes a Registered Professional Engineer

June 30, 2008 (Plymouth, MI) — Soil and Materials Engineers, Inc. (SME) announced that Simon C. Murley, PE, Senior Engineer in our Plymouth office became a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan.

Simon has four years of experience and manages construction materials services (CMS) projects and evaluations related to foundations, concrete, re-steel, floor flatness, masonry, and concrete and asphalt pavements. He provides sustainable solutions to geotechnical engineering challenges and constructability issues. Simon began his career with SME as a Co-op and after earning a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 2004, became a full-time Staff Engineer. He is currently working toward a master’s degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on geotechnical engineering, at Lawrence Technological University.
